Pokemon XD Shipping & Sales Figures
Financial In Market Nintendo has announced today that they are currently shipping their upcoming GCN title, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.
The forthcoming 40 hour adventure takes place in a world where the legendary creature, Lugia, has turned into a shadow Pokemon.
Shadow Lugia is used by the Cipher Corporation to steal countless other Pokemon.
It is now the job of the player to restore and purify the shadow Pokemon, and bring peace to the world.
In addition to the extensive RPG mode of the title, Pokemon XD will also offer an option heavy vs mode. In here, players can battle against their friends using their favorite Pokemon.
Nintendo has also implemented a special mini-game called Battle Bingo. In a twist of the game, players will battle their Pokemon to fill in card squares.
Rated "E" for everyone, the title will also include GCN to GBA connectivity. This will allow anyone with both gaming systems and a link cable to transfer Pokemon from titles such as Pokemon Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Sapphire, and Ruby.
Finally, Nintendo has announced that the Pokemon series is close to selling over 150 million copies throughout its history.
Since launching in the United States in 1998, the series has taken the country by storm. In fact, every Pokemon game has sold over one million copies.
The series has sold an astonishing 40 million copies in the United States alone. Sales of Pokemon games have eclipsed 15 billion dollars, and 150 million overall copies are expected to be sold shortly.
