Nintendo Shows Off
Financial In Market Japanese retailers visiting Nintendo's mini-expo got quite an eyeful at some very unique and interesting games on display.
The new WarioWare for the GBA will not be using the standard joy pad at all, but instead uses a new motion sensor that will respond when the GBA is turned, rolled, or otherwised moved in any direction to accplomplish the goals of the mini-games. Additionally, there will be 200 games to compete in, and another 100 to unlock. The game hits Japan in October.
F-Zero Climax is much like the original SNES F-Zero, as well as GP Legends. In this sequel however, players can spin their vehicles and take out other racers, much like in the N64 and Cube games. There's also going to be a track editor, a fave among F-Zero fans.
Pokemon Emerald will now be compatible with the E-Reader, and will feature 83 cards to use. By going to certain location in the game known as Trainer Hill, Pokemon players can call out other trainers and set up matches. As with anything Pokemon in Japan, it'll will probably be a big success.
Finally comes Zoids Versus 3, a sequel to the popular mech combat game based off the anime series, is getting a third title for the Cube, courtesy of Tomy. There will be 4-player matches in this version, with gamers getting to choose computer-controlled teams to fight against, or team up with.
Quite a solid selection of games, let's hope they all make a quick translation stateside.
Rumors are floating around that Nintendo might take two days off their busy schedual to let some folks in on their 2004 game plan. February 12th and 13th are the dates in question for this inpromtu conference, way confirmed, it could be they'll announce some new 1st party games, or some additional DS details. The Twin Snakes, elusive Resident Evil 4. The NDA Capcom imposed over the title on the 28th of January might actually be until Nintendo shows off the game themselves...only time will tell.
