GSPx -- International Embedded Solutions Event Scheduled for September 2004

GSPx Features 52 Tracks, 525 White Papers and Keynotes from Intel, Philips Semiconductors, Synopsys during Four-day, Information-packed Trade Show

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2004-- Global Technology Conferences, Inc. (GTC) today announced the vast amount of information presented that will be available at GSPx, the international embedded solutions event designed by and for the industry. Distinguishing the show from other events, GSPx will provide to attendees an unparalleled amount of critical content developed by industry experts working daily with embedded technologies. GSPx targets engineers who develop world-class applications incorporating embedded technologies as well as the senior corporate executives charged with driving related businesses. The conference and expo will take place September 27 - 30 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California.
Keynote presentations delivered by industry-defining leaders including Philips Semiconductors' Dr. Theo Claasen, Intel's Ton H. Steenman and Synopsys' Dr. Raul Camposano headline GSPx's event tracks. The four-day event packages still more information in ten technology panels, nine technology workshops, more than 500 white paper presentations, and three professional education courses.

First Embedded Solutions Executive Summit

New this year is the Executive Summit @ GSPx, a two-day senior executive conference sponsored by MIT Technology Review. Via formal presentations and panel discussions, the twelve one-hour sessions are intended to emphasize the influence of embedded signal processing technology on today's business. The sessions will provide critical insight to and guidance on developing effective business strategies required to succeed in the rapidly changing marketplace.

Dr. Ed Ross, president of TSMC North America, and Thomas Murchie, Altera Corporation's vice president of operations, will be joined by other industry experts participating in the keynote panel discussion entitled "The Supply Chain: Customers, ODMs and Foundry."

Other notable speakers at the GSPx Executive Summit include IBM Federal CTO Dr. Ray Wells, United States Technology Administration Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy Dan Caprio, former Sony America and Palm president Carl Yankowski, Gartner Group analyst Mike Williams, and performance networking lab director Alan Crouch of Intel.

Peer-Reviewed Papers Tackle Tech Applications from A to Z

Receiving nearly 700 submissions from all over the world, the GSPx Technology Review Committee has selected 525 white papers to be presented at the conference. The authors of these papers represent over 250 companies and 100 research and university labs. The paper presentations are organized into 53 technology tracks and focus on industries ranging from aerospace engineering to wireless technologies.

"GSPx is the only fully comprehensive trade show created for buying teams -- the decision makers who truly drive the embedded solutions market," said stated Dr. Amnon Aliphas, the GSPx Conference Chairman. "GSPx will be 2004's premier educational and networking event. With many new products on the show floor, an overwhelming number of paper presentations, specialized training programs and more, members of the embedded technology industry can't afford to miss this show."

Co-Locators Benefit from Industry Reach

GTC also announced today that the GSPx's target audience and broad industry participation proved to be an ideal environment for two complementary groups.

The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI), a not-for-profit industry organization dedicated to supporting and advancing SystemC as a system-level standard, has scheduled its NASCUG Users Group meeting on September 29.

Accellera, the organization driving global development and use of standards within the systems, semiconductor and design tools industries. Accellera will update the community on its current achievements on September 29.

Conference and Expo Access

Leading a list of influential sponsors, The MathWorks, CoWare(TM), Catalytic Inc. and StarCore(TM) also rank as expo exhibitors along with more than 150 organizations. Expo admission is complimentary to the industry and provides access to the exhibit hall and New Product Forum, keynote speeches and technology panel discussions led by renowned hardware, software and development experts. Expo attendees may also attend the IEEE-sponsored professional development workshops designed to give today's engineers and managers the necessary tools for success.
