September NPD Sales Figures

Financial In Market NPD Funworlds hardware and software numbers for September came out today, and the numbers don't bode that well for Nintendo.

While Nintendo's Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green games continue to sell, GameCube software still continues to sell far behind the competition. The top 15 selling games across all platforms are full of PS2 and Xbox titles, with only the above mentioned Pokemon games, Pikmin 2 and WWE Day Of Reckoning as the only Nintendo platform games.

It will be quite interesting to see how Nintendo's upcoming offerings in November fare against such heavy competition from Microsoft and Sony.

Proprietary game engine delivers improved development efficiency Codemasters named 2007 UK Developer of the Year The Codemasters Software Company Limited ("Codemasters"), winning interactive entertainment software, year history. In the 12 months to June 30, 2007, the group increased sales by 38% to 1.5m ($149m). One driving force in the company’s performance was a 332% increase in dollar sales of video game software in the US retail channel, according to The NPD Group in the same period. NPD charts Codemasters as one of the top five fastest growing video game companies in the US.
